Direction and Ingredients
Amount Ingredient Preparation
1 cup sugar
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup oil
2 each eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 1/2 cups flour
1 x sugar colored, for decoration, optional
 Combine the sugars, butter oil and eggs, beat well.  Add the remaining ingredients, mix well.  Refrigerate dough until well chilled (2 hours).

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Roll dough into balls and dip into granulated sugar. Place on a cookie sheet and flatten with the bottom of a glass which has been dipped into the sugar (it keeps the dough from sticking). Bake for 1-12 minutes, or until lightly browned around the edges
