Direction and Ingredients
Amount Ingredient Preparation
1 1/2 cups water
2 cups sugar (or less, to taste)
2 3-4 inch cinnamon sticks
2 teaspoons cloves whole
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 Bottles red wine (750 ml) burgundy
2 cups cranberry juice cocktail chilled
1 l apple cider chilled
ice
lemon or lime, thinly sliced
 In saucepan bring water, sugar, spices and salt to boil.

Lower heat and simmer 1 minutes; strain-out and discard
spices; cool syrup.

Combine spiced syrup with wine, cranberry juice cocktail and
cider.

Pour into punch bowl, add ice and lemon slices.
